On May 17, 2022, Dr. Michael Hans was invited as a speaker by the Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga for a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Event. The FGD titled, "Personal Data Protection Model in Electronic Systems: Implementation and Challenges Regulation in Public and Private Services", was a hybrid event attended by 20 on-site, and dozens of online participants from various backgrounds and professions. Many students, researchers, legal experts, and representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (KOMINFO) took part in the discussion in this event.
As a Data Protection Officer, Dr. Michael Hans outlined future challenges in personal data protection in the public sector. He also discussed the perspective of personal data protection violations in the context of public services and efforts to protect citizens' rights.
With many diverse participants, it is hoped that this FGD will be able to further research about law and technology in Indonesia, especially in the areas of private sector and e-Government implementation of personal data protection and cyber security in the e-Government system.
